More likely than not, the single family home, condominium, townhouse, high-rise or apartment you live in has ceramic tile. Ceramic tile flooring has been a popular alternative to carpet flooring for many years and remains so today, especially in high traffic areas. Ceramic tile is a frequent choice for bathroom floors, countertops, and shower stalls. In the kitchen, ceramic floors and countertops gradually replaced linoleum products of the previous generation only to be replaced themselves by a new generation of natural stone products such as granite, quartz, travertine and slate. The use of ceramic tile will not disappear anytime soon in new construction due its durability, easy maintenance, and cost effectiveness. None the less, ceramic tile still requires periodic professional care in order to optimize its appearance and maximize its useful life. When it comes to maintaining your ceramic tile, rely on our certified expert technicians to keep your ceramic tile sparkling clean.
Ceramic tile is man-made clay fired material. Glazed ceramic tile does not normally require any protective treatment. It is the glaze itself that gives the tile its excellent protection and resistance to the absorption of dirt. Many of the new ceramic tiles in today’s market are manufactured to look like real stone.
Ceramic tile is one of the most abused and overlooked floor and wall surfaces in the home simply because of the care involved in cleaning it. Ever notice how the grout in between your ceramic tiles gradually gets darker and darker over time? That’s because the grout is slowly but steadily absorbing dirt, grime, bacteria, and germs resulting in dark discoloration.
All of us at ClearPro Window and Carpet Cleaning are dedicated to helping you keep your home healthy clean and always looking its best. In years gone by, the standard method for cleaning ceramic tile was to scrub each tile and grout line for hours with a small brush, using harsh, irritating, and sometimes unsafe chemicals. The good news is that ClearPro can make short work of this task. Whether your ceramic tile is in your kitchen, bathroom, or some other area of your home, those stubborn stains, embedded bacteria, and germs don’t stand a chance. Using our state-of-the-art steam cleaning process and special accessories, our technicians have the capability to expertly clean your ceramic tile and grout removing even the hardest-to-clean grime and dirt. Your tile and grout will look very much as it did the day it was installed.
For best results, have your ceramic tile and grout sealed and use a neutral stone cleaner. Trust ClearPro Window and Carpet Cleaning for all those difficult and unpopular projects like deep cleaning your ceramic tile and grout. You really will be glad you did.
Ceramic Tile & Grout Cleaning Process
Technicians will make note of all challenging areas and set your expectations as well as come up with a solution for each area.
We will prepare the areas surrounding the ceramic tile, making sure not to disturb any carpeted or hardwood floors. At this point all furniture on the area to be cleaned will temporarily re-located.
Dry Soil Removal:
Our technicians thoroughly sweep and vacuum the entire surface to be cleaned. Dry soil removal is one of the most important cleaning steps to be done well if optimum results are to be achieved.
We use the highest quality cleaning chemistry. The cleaning agent we spray over the entire surface of your ceramic tile and grout is the most scientifically advanced ceramic tile and grout cleaner on the market.
Grout line Pre-Scrub:
Complex and difficult areas are agitated manually with a brush. Powered rotary cleaning equipment is employed for really dirty heavy traffic areas.
A rinse solution is used as necessary to balance the pH of your floor.
Clean and Extract:
Dirt and soil is extracted from the entire tile and grout surface using our state of the art steam cleaning equipment.
The type of sealer and application varies on the application surface. (This is an optional step available at an extra charge that we highly recommend. (For more information, see our Grout Sealing Page.)
Protective materials surrounding the work area will be removed and furniture replaced to original location.
Technicians will initiate a walk through and go over results before leaving.
The quality of the sealer is very important as there is definitely a big difference in the quality of sealers available on the market.
Even actually MORE important, though, is to make sure you are using the correct cleaners for your ceramic tile and grout. General purpose cleaners not specifically formulated for ceramic tile and grout are never recommended. These products can breakdown the sealer, thereby removing its protective properties and making the tile and grout susceptible to stains. Worse yet, many cleaning products including those that contain lemon, vinegar, bleach or ammonia can etch away the polish, discolor the surface, or even scratch your tile. It is of critical importance to use a neutral pH cleaner to maintain your tile and grout floors, showers, and countertops.
